How credits work

Credits are the single unit Qoren meters everything in. Your plan adds a batch of credits every month, you can top up more, and everything your agents use draws from the same balance. If you understand this page, you understand your bill.

What spends credits#

Four things draw from your balance. In Settings, then Billing, the Where credits go list shows each of them for your account.

• Agents (LLM): model usage when your agents run on Qoren's managed model key, metered per token. If you bring your own model key, model usage is billed by your provider instead and does not use credits.
• Environments: every running environment is charged by the hour, by size, whether or not its agents are busy. See environment sizes.
• Mailboxes: each agent email inbox costs a flat amount per month, charged when you add it and again at each renewal. See agent email.
• Web searches: each web search, scrape or crawl an agent makes costs a small fixed amount.

The monthly grant and your top-ups#

Your balance has two parts, and Qoren always spends them in the same order.

1. The monthly grant comes first. Each plan adds a fixed number of credits at the start of every billing period. Usage draws this down first.
2. Topped-up credits come next. Credits you buy are only used once the grant for the period is gone.

Unused grant credits expire at renewal. When your billing period renews, whatever is left of the old grant lapses and a fresh grant replaces it. You can see this as Expired grant credits in your usage report.

Topped-up credits never expire. They carry across billing periods until you use them. Because the grant is spent first, you never lose a purchased credit to a renewal.

Watch your balance#

Your balance is always in the top bar, next to your avatar (1). Hover it to see what your running environments cost per hour. Click it to open Billing.

When your balance is in trouble, a strip appears under the top bar with the reason and the fix (2):

• Runs out in up to ..., before your ... renewal. At the rate your environments cost, your balance empties before the next grant arrives. The estimate counts environment hosting only, so model use and web searches can make it sooner. Click Top up.
• Out of credits. Agents are paused until you top up. Your balance is empty.
• Monthly budget reached. Agents are paused until you raise it or the period renews. Your own budget stopped the work. Click Raise budget; topping up does not help here. See spend controls.

By default the organization owner is also emailed as usage passes 80, 90 and 95 percent of the period's credits, and always when credits run out.

What happens at zero#

Qoren never bills you for usage you did not pay for in advance. When the grant and your topped-up credits are both gone:

• Your agents pause. Qoren stops them, so they make no model calls and no web searches until credits are back.
• Your environments and mailboxes stay in place. Nothing is deleted, and no hosting charges build up while you are at zero.
• Everything resumes on its own as soon as there are credits again: when you top up, or when the next monthly grant arrives.
