What Syften includes, and what it charges

Syften calls itself an AI-filtered keyword monitoring tool for brand mentions, competitor references and relevant conversations. Its pricing page sizes plans by filters. Entry is $29.95 a month for 3 community filters and 1 web filter, with email alerts. Standard is $49.95 a month for 20 community filters and 5 web filters, and adds AI filtering, Slack and API access, with X and YouTube as optional extras. PRO is $119.95 a month for 100 community filters and 20 web filters, and adds Bluesky, Mastodon, webhooks and an MCP connection. There is a 14-day free trial of PRO with no credit card.

  • Sources: Reddit, forums, Stack Exchange, podcasts, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, GitHub, Slack communities, mailing lists and public websites, with X, YouTube, Bluesky and Mastodon on the plans above.
  • Speed: Syften targets at most a 1-minute delay on Reddit and at most 15 minutes on X.
  • AI filtering suppresses spammy, repetitive and auto-promotional posts, duplicates and weak matches, and an archive search finds mentions from before you created an alert, from 7 days back to unlimited depending on the plan.

Why you might look for a Syften alternative

Syften is good at what it does, and quick alerts from many communities at this price are hard to beat. The reasons to compare are about fit rather than quality.

  • AI filtering starts on Standard, and Bluesky, Mastodon, webhooks and MCP are on PRO only, so the cheapest plan is plain keyword matching by email.
  • You want a free tool: F5Bot covers Reddit and Hacker News at no cost.
  • You need LinkedIn or Facebook mentions, which are not in Syften's source list.
  • Finding the thread is half the job. Syften alerts you to a conversation, and writing a reply that survives a community that dislikes vendors is still yours to do, and usually takes the most time.

Keyword alert alternatives

If what you use Syften for is knowing when your keywords show up, these three do the same job with a different trade between price, sources and speed.

  • F5Bot: keyword alerts on Reddit posts and comments, Hacker News and Lobsters. The free plan is free forever with basic filtering; Silver is $9.99 a month for 20 keywords, and Gold is $49.99 a month for 200 keywords with AI filtering, RSS and JSON feeds and Slack and Discord delivery. Email alerts can be instant, batched or a daily digest.
  • KWatch.io: real-time keyword alerts on Reddit, Hacker News, X, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn, with notifications expected within seconds and up to a minute. The free plan has 2 Reddit and 2 Hacker News keywords; Essential at $19 a month adds AI analysis and a few X, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn keywords; Business at $79 adds Slack, webhooks, the API and MCP.
  • Octolens: AI relevance scoring on mentions across Reddit, X, Hacker News, LinkedIn, GitHub, YouTube, Bluesky, newsletters, podcasts, Stack Overflow and DEV, with Slack, email, webhooks, an API and an MCP server on every plan. Pro is $159 a month billed annually for 10 keywords and 15,000 mentions with hourly refresh; Scale at $499 billed annually refreshes in real time. There is a 7-day free trial.

Reply and lead tools, and broad brand monitoring

Two tools go past the alert to the reply, and one covers far more social networks at a far higher price. Read how each one posts before you turn it on: a reply sent from an account you do not control, or a run of automated DMs, can break a community's rules.

  • Leadverse: a Reddit lead finder with AI-written outreach trained on your voice. Its All in One plan is $49 a month with a 7-day free trial, and includes an autopilot mode that handles Reddit DMs and follow-ups hands-off, plus what it calls high-karma accounts and an MCP integration.
  • ReplyGuy: finds conversations where your product fits and generates suggested replies that mention it. Its FAQ says it posts Reddit replies automatically from accounts you provide, while X replies are suggested for you to edit and post. Plans run from Analyst at $39 a month (20 keywords, 5 projects) through Pro at $49 with 100 replies a month and up to Agency at $499, with about 5 months free billed yearly.
  • Brand24: mention monitoring across Facebook, Instagram, X, news, blogs, Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, podcasts, reviews and more. Individual is $249 a month, or $199 billed annually, for 3 keywords and 2,000 mentions updated every 12 hours; real-time updates start on Pro at $499 a month. There is a 14-day free trial.

Where Qoren fits, and where it does not

Qoren is not a keyword alert service. It runs agents, and one of its templates is a demand scout: an agent that sweeps the Reddit, Hacker News, X and forum communities you name every weekday at 07:00, for posts new since its last sweep. It keeps only genuine intent, someone describing your problem or asking what to buy, and drops passing keyword mentions and listicles. For each real one it drafts a reply that leads with help and discloses your affiliation, then sends you one index of the day's drafts. Threads older than 48 hours are skipped, and a quiet day sends nothing.

  • What it does well: intent judged rather than keyword matched, each community's self-promotion rules respected (a community that bans vendor replies gets a flag to you, never a draft), replies written as 90% help, and a memory of which communities convert, which are hostile to vendors and which drafts you actually posted.
  • What Syften does better: alerts within a minute on Reddit and 15 minutes on X, Slack communities, GitHub, Stack Exchange, mailing lists, podcasts, Bluesky and Mastodon, an archive search, filters by the hundred, webhooks and an API, from $29.95 a month.
  • What Qoren does not offer: real-time alerts (it sweeps once each weekday), Slack communities, Bluesky, Mastodon, GitHub or podcast coverage, an archive search, or posting. It finds threads through a web search API such as Tavily, and through the X API only if you add a token, so coverage depends on what those return. It drafts and reports; every reply is yours to post under your own name, and it never posts anything anywhere.
  • Setup is real work: you agree the problem phrases, communities, their norms and your disclosure policy with the agent in its first conversation. Tavily, Firecrawl, X and Slack keys are optional extras, and model usage is billed on top of the plan. For an agency, each client gets its own agent watching that client's communities.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Syften alternative?

There is no single winner. F5Bot is free for Reddit and Hacker News, KWatch.io is cheap and adds LinkedIn and Facebook, Octolens suits a team that wants AI scoring across more sources, Leadverse and ReplyGuy go on to write the reply, Brand24 covers the big social networks at a higher price, and Qoren gives you an agent that drafts a help-first reply to each genuine thread for you to post.

Is there a free Syften alternative?

Yes. F5Bot is free forever for keyword alerts on Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters, and KWatch.io has a free plan with 2 Reddit and 2 Hacker News keywords, according to each vendor's page. Syften itself has no free plan, but it offers a 14-day free trial of PRO with no credit card.

Which Syften alternative covers LinkedIn?

KWatch.io lists LinkedIn and Facebook keyword alerts from its Essential plan, and Octolens and Brand24 both list LinkedIn among their sources. Syften's source list does not include LinkedIn, and neither does Qoren's demand scout, which covers Reddit, Hacker News, X and forums.

Can a Syften alternative write the reply for me?

Some can. Leadverse writes Reddit DMs and can send them on autopilot, and ReplyGuy suggests replies and posts Reddit ones automatically from accounts you provide. Qoren's demand scout drafts a help-first reply that discloses your affiliation and leaves posting to you, and flags communities that ban vendor replies instead of drafting for them.

How is Qoren different from Syften?

Syften is a hosted alert service that tells you within minutes when your keywords appear across many communities. Qoren runs an agent you own that sweeps your communities once each weekday, keeps only people who have the problem now, and drafts a reply for each. It is slower, covers fewer sources, has no archive search and does not post.

Run every client's agents from one console.

Give each client an isolated environment with its own credentials, deliver the work under your name or done-for-you, and keep the whole account inside one budget.
